Private Strategic Advisory

A trusted outside perspective for the decisions that shape the company.

I work directly with a limited number of established business owners who want better decisions, fewer blind spots and a trusted advisor in their corner when the answer isn’t obvious.

Why this work exists

The owner is often the final decision-maker — and the person least likely to be challenged.

Large-company CEOs have boards, senior executives and other experienced people around them. Most privately held business owners don’t.

That creates a predictable problem: you can be smart, successful and still be too close to the company to see what is really happening. My role is to bring the outside perspective, pattern recognition and accountability that are often missing inside an owner-led business.

The blind-spot problem

You’re driving the car. I’m looking where you can’t.

Not to second-guess every decision. To help make sure the right problem is getting your attention.

01

What are you tolerating?

The employee issue, broken process, weak accountability or recurring problem everyone has learned to work around.

02

Where is your time going?

Owners can spend 15 hours a week on work someone else should own while the highest-value CEO work waits.

03

What is the real constraint?

The problem may not be leads. It may be conversion. It may not be people. It may be leadership. Diagnose before prescribing.

04

What could this decision cost?

A hire, acquisition, pricing move or strategic distraction can create six-figure consequences. Better thinking matters before the commitment.

Two lenses

The owner. The business. The decisions connecting them.

Those are deliberately separate conversations. One reveals how the owner is operating. The other reveals what the company actually needs.

The Owner

Walk me through an average workweek.

  • Where is your time actually going?
  • What should only you be doing?
  • What are you avoiding?
  • Where are you still the bottleneck?
  • What needs to be delegated or confronted?
  • What is draining your capacity to lead?
The Business

What is keeping the company from where you want it to go?

  • Sales and conversion
  • People and leadership
  • Margins and financial performance
  • Systems and accountability
  • Growth and acquisitions
  • Strategic direction and enterprise value

What you’re actually buying

Judgment, not meeting time.

The value isn’t the number of Zoom hours on the calendar. It is having someone you trust close enough to understand the business and available when consequential decisions show up.

Pattern recognition

Two decades across ownership, sales, growth, franchising, brokerage, acquisitions and advising owners.

Direct challenge

Someone willing to say, “That’s not the problem,” or ask the question no one inside the company wants to ask.

Accountability

Important decisions stop living indefinitely on the list of things you know you should deal with.

Business value

Growth matters, but so do transferability, risk, owner dependence and the options the company creates for you.

Who this is for

This is built for owners with something real at stake.

Industry matters less than the stage of the business and the stage of the owner.

Strong fit

  • You own an established business with employees and real operating complexity.
  • You have enough revenue and margin that better decisions matter more than cheap advice.
  • You are still too central to the company or have hit a ceiling you can’t solve by simply working harder.
  • You are dealing with leadership, people, sales, growth, acquisition or strategic questions.
  • You want a stronger, more valuable business with more options over time.
  • You value candor and are willing to be challenged.

Probably not the right fit

  • You are still looking for the business idea itself.
  • You primarily need inexpensive tactical help or someone to execute tasks for you.
  • You want a canned course, large group program or motivational accountability.
  • You want validation more than outside perspective.
  • You are not prepared to act when the real issue becomes clear.

Limited by design

I keep this to a small number of relationships.

Strategic advisory works because I stay close enough to the owner and the business to understand the context, not because I fill a calendar with coaching appointments.

Engagements are built around recurring strategic conversations, preparation and review, accountability, and reasonable access when an important decision deserves another set of eyes.

There is no promise that I will run every implementation project. The point is to make sure you are working on the right things, making better decisions and building a company that gives you more options.
